Prior to starting the the Label Sneh and Samta would always be discussing clothes. Friends and family sought their advise on dress styles, colours, embellishments and value added techniques for all occasions. Their advice was always appreciated. It was this appreciation and their own pleasure in bringing different fabrics, colours, designs and intricate embellishments together that inspired them to start this label. The LalitArpan festival has become a widely acclaimed landmark in the cultural calendar of the capital for the past 13 years. With its fame spreading beyond immediate boundaries, to be featured in this festival has become an attraction for several torch bearers of the classical performing arts genre.

One unique feature about this festival has been that its main presenter, Guru Shovana Narayan, has consciously chosen not to participate in her own Festival with her personal performance. This sets her apart from all her colleagues in the field of performing arts. 

 
This year, along with the torchbearers, the LalitArpan festival will also be featuring maestros.
